Every postcode: all TN, ME, CT and DA addresses across Kent and Medway, including the villages between the main towns.

Every airport, plus the port: Gatwick, Heathrow, Stansted, Luton, London City and Southend — and Dover Cruise Port, which sits inside our core Kent patch.

One fare, per car: the price covers the vehicle, not each passenger, with the airport drop-off charge already inside it. Four people pay once.

Any hour, same price: a 2am collection from Dover costs what the same run costs at 2pm. No overnight premium, no surge.

Where We Collect From, and Where We Take You

Kent is a big county — roughly seventy miles from the Surrey border to the North Sea — and the service covers all of it. There is no postcode in Kent or Medway we don't run to, and no minimum distance below which a job isn't worth taking.

On the destination side, the six London airports are the bulk of the work, but they aren't the whole of it. Dover Cruise Port sits inside our core Kent area and we handle it in both directions — running passengers down for embarkation, and collecting them off the ship afterwards for an airport or a home address. Southampton, Tilbury, the Channel ferry terminals and the Eurotunnel terminal at Folkestone are all covered on the same fixed-fare basis.

What It Costs from Your Part of Kent

Because the county spans seventy miles, a single "Kent price" would be meaningless — Sevenoaks and Ramsgate are further apart than London and Brighton. In practice the fares fall into three bands, and knowing which one you're in gets you most of the way.

Kent to Gatwick — fare bands by area, drop-off charge included
AreaTownsDistanceSaloon from
West KentSevenoaks, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells22–30 mi£45
Mid Kent & MedwayMaidstone, Ashford, Rochester, Chatham, Dartford38–50 mi£70
East Kent & ThanetCanterbury, Dover, Folkestone, Margate, Ramsgate62–90 mi£95

Heathrow runs roughly 20 to 25 miles further from any Kent postcode than Gatwick does, because it needs the longer eastbound M25 approach rather than the direct M23 southbound. Expect Heathrow fares to sit around a third higher than the Gatwick figure for the same pickup address.

These bands are a guide for planning. For the confirmed figure from your own address, the fare calculator takes a full postcode and returns the exact price for your vehicle and terminal. That number is what you pay — it doesn't move on the day.

Choosing the Right Vehicle

The fare covers the car, not the head count, which is why the vehicle choice usually decides the cost more than anything else. For a Kent airport run the practical question is luggage as much as passengers — four adults with four large cases genuinely need more boot space than four adults with hand baggage.

Vehicle options for Kent airport transfers
VehiclePassengersLuggageBest for
Saloon1–33 bagsMost Kent bookings; couples and solo travellers
Estate1–34 bagsSame passengers, noticeably more boot space
MPV 5 / MPV 653–4 bagsFamilies needing seats more than boot
MPV 765 bagsLarger families with full holiday luggage
Executive saloon1–32 bagsBusiness travel; Mercedes E-Class or similar
Executive MPV 777 bagsCorporate groups; Mercedes V-Class or similar
8-seater minibus87 bagsExtended families, small parties
16-seater1614 bagsSports teams, wedding parties, large groups

For a family of four from Maidstone, an estate usually works out better than a saloon by a few pounds and saves the argument about whose case goes on a lap. For six or more from anywhere in the county, one MPV or minibus is almost always cheaper than two saloons and keeps everyone together on a long East Kent run.

What's Included in Every Kent Booking

These are standard on every job, not optional extras or upgrade tiers. We're listing them explicitly because several of them are charged separately elsewhere, and that's where quoted prices and final prices tend to diverge.

Included as standard on every Kent airport transfer
IncludedWhat it means in practice
Airport drop-off chargeGatwick £10, Heathrow £7 — already inside your fare, nothing to pay at the terminal
Flight trackingDriver monitors your inbound flight and adjusts the pickup automatically
Meet and greetDriver waits inside arrivals with a name board, not at a kerbside point

The drop-off charge is the one worth reading twice. Gatwick raised its forecourt fee to £10 in early 2026 and Heathrow charges £7. An operator quoting £72 who adds the charge at the end costs £82; one quoting £80 all-in is genuinely cheaper. When comparing Kent airport taxi quotes, the number that matters is the total after everything, not the headline.

Early Morning and Overnight Runs

A large share of our Kent work happens between midnight and 5am, and there's a straightforward reason. Gatwick runs a heavy schedule of 6am to 8am departures, which means check-in by 4am for most carriers. Working backwards, a Maidstone passenger needs collecting around 2:45am; from Canterbury it's nearer 2am; from Dover, 1:30am.

Nothing on the rail network covers those hours from Kent. The first trains from Canterbury or Dover don't reach Gatwick until after 7am, by which point the flight has gone. For the single largest category of leisure departures out of Gatwick, a pre-booked car isn't the convenient option for East Kent — it's the only one that works.

The fare doesn't change for the hour. A 2am collection from Folkestone costs exactly what the same journey costs at 2pm — no night rate, no unsocial-hours premium. Your driver's name, vehicle and registration come through the evening before, which is worth rather more at 2am than it is at midday.

The same applies to late arrivals. A flight landing at Gatwick at 11:40pm is an awkward one to arrange transport for at short notice; booked in advance it's simply a job on the sheet, with the driver already tracking your inbound flight.

Dover Cruise Port Transfers

Dover is Kent's own cruise terminal, which makes it a slightly different job from a standard airport run and one we handle a lot of.

Two patterns come up repeatedly. The first is passengers flying into Gatwick or Heathrow and needing to reach Dover Cruise Terminal for an embarkation window that doesn't move — ships sail on time, and a missed departure is a genuinely expensive mistake rather than an inconvenience. The second is Kent residents heading to the terminal from home, then wanting collection on disembarkation day when everyone leaves the ship at once and the taxi rank is chaos.

Both are booked the same way as an airport transfer, with the fare fixed in advance and the driver briefed on the terminal rather than the town. For embarkation runs from an airport, flight tracking matters more than usual: if your flight is late, the driver knows before you've cleared baggage, and the schedule adjusts around it.

Business and Group Travel from Kent

Kent's commuter belt generates a steady stream of business airport travel, particularly from the Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Maidstone corridors into Heathrow and London City. The executive saloon and executive MPV cover that work — Mercedes E-Class and V-Class or equivalent, with a professionally presented driver and the same fixed-fare structure.

For companies running regular Kent airport travel, account billing removes the expense-claim step: journeys are invoiced monthly rather than paid per trip. Our corporate taxi service covers the setup, and the executive chauffeur page has the full vehicle detail.

Larger groups — wedding parties heading out from Kent, sports teams, extended families travelling together — are handled with the 8-seater and 16-seater vehicles. One vehicle for sixteen people from Ashford to Gatwick is a materially different proposition, both in cost and in not losing anyone, than four separate cars.

How Booking Works

The whole thing takes under a minute and there's no phone call required unless you want one.

checklistBooking a Kent airport transfer
Step 1Enter your full Kent postcode and the airport with terminal. A postcode rather than a town name matters — it's what produces the exact fare rather than an area estimate.
Step 2Pick your vehicle. Passenger and luggage capacity are listed against each one, so you're choosing on boot space as much as seats.
Step 3The total appears on screen before any payment details are requested. That figure includes the drop-off charge and is what appears on your receipt.
Step 4Confirmation arrives by email. Driver name, vehicle and registration follow before travel day.
Step 5Changes or cancellation up to 24 hours before travel, free of charge, via WhatsApp or phone at any hour.

If you'd rather talk it through — an unusual pickup, a cruise transfer with a tight embarkation window, a group needing two vehicles — WhatsApp is answered around the clock and gets you a human rather than a form.

Exact Fares for Your Town

These guides carry the confirmed fare, route and journey time for each town, along with the surrounding villages and postcodes covered. If your town isn't listed, that doesn't mean it isn't served — it means we haven't written its guide yet. The fare calculator covers every address in the county regardless.

Between the named towns sit dozens of Kent villages, and their fares generally fall between the two nearest towns rather than following any separate rate. A pickup from Charing or Lenham lands between the Ashford and Maidstone figures; Sandwich or Deal sit between Canterbury and Dover. Enter the postcode and the calculator does that arithmetic for you rather than rounding to the nearest town.

A Quick Note on the Train

Worth being straight about this rather than pretending the alternative doesn't exist. Kent has an excellent railway — the UK's only domestic high-speed line, over 180 stations — but none of it reaches an airport. Every route runs into a London terminus first and back out again, which means one change from West Kent and two or three from the east.

So from Sevenoaks or Tunbridge Wells, a solo traveller with a cabin bag on a midday flight may well find advance rail cheaper, and we'd rather say so. From Mid Kent onwards, or for any group, family or checked luggage, the maths and the hassle both move the other way — and from East Kent before dawn, there's no train at all.

Frequently Asked Questions

helpWhich Kent postcodes does your airport taxi service cover?
All of them. Every TN, ME, CT and DA postcode across Kent and Medway is covered, from Sevenoaks and Tonbridge in the west through Maidstone, Ashford and the Medway towns to Canterbury, Dover, Folkestone and the Thanet coast. Villages between the main towns are covered on the same basis — enter the full postcode and the fare comes back for that exact address.
helpHow much is a Kent airport taxi to Gatwick?
West Kent towns such as Sevenoaks and Tunbridge Wells are typically £45 to £60. Mid Kent, including Maidstone, Ashford and the Medway towns, generally runs £70 to £90. East Kent and Thanet — Canterbury, Dover, Folkestone, Margate and Ramsgate — is usually £95 to £160. Every fare is fixed at the moment of booking and includes the Gatwick drop-off charge.
helpIs the airport drop-off charge included in the fare?
Yes, always. Gatwick charges £10 for a ten-minute forecourt drop-off and Heathrow charges £7. Both are built into the quoted fare, so there is nothing to pay at the terminal. This is worth checking with any operator, because a quote that excludes it is not the price you will actually pay.
helpWhich airports do you cover from Kent?
All six London airports — Gatwick, Heathrow, Stansted, Luton, London City and Southend — plus Dover Cruise Port, Southampton and the Channel ports. Gatwick is the closest for every Kent postcode and accounts for most bookings, but the same fixed-fare service applies to any of them.
helpDo you run early morning airport transfers from Kent?
Yes, 24 hours a day at the same fixed fare. A 2am collection from Dover or a 3am pickup from Canterbury costs exactly what the same journey costs at midday — no overnight surcharge. This matters in Kent specifically, because no train reaches Gatwick from East Kent in time for a 6am departure.
helpWhat vehicles are available for Kent airport transfers?
Saloon for 1 to 3 passengers, estate for extra luggage, MPV 5, 6 and 7-seaters, an 8-seater minibus and a 16-seater for larger parties, plus executive saloon and executive MPV for business travel. Every vehicle is priced as one fixed fare for the car rather than per passenger.
helpCan you collect us from Dover Cruise Port?
Yes. Dover Cruise Port sits inside our core Kent coverage, and we handle both directions — airport to cruise terminal for embarkation, and cruise terminal back to any London airport or home address on disembarkation. Cruise transfers are booked the same way as airport runs, with the fare fixed in advance.
helpIs flight tracking included on Kent arrivals?
Yes, on every booking at no extra charge. Your driver monitors the inbound flight number and adjusts the pickup time automatically, so a delayed landing does not mean a missed driver or a waiting charge. Meet and greet inside the arrivals hall with a name board is also standard rather than an upgrade.
helpHow far ahead should I book a Kent airport taxi?
24 to 48 hours covers most journeys. For pre-dawn pickups from East Kent, book the day before at the latest, since driver availability at 2am is genuinely limited. For school holiday start dates and bank holiday weekends, a week ahead is sensible to secure your preferred vehicle.
helpAre child seats available for Kent airport journeys?
Yes, free of charge on request. Specify the number and age group when booking and the correct seats are fitted before your driver arrives. For a family travelling from Kent to Gatwick with young children, this removes the need to carry your own seats through the terminal.
helpCan I book a return Kent airport transfer at the same time?
Yes, and it is worth doing. Booking both legs together locks in the outbound and return fares at the same time and confirms a driver for your arrival, which is one less thing to arrange at the end of a trip. The return leg is priced on the same basis as the outbound.
helpWhy book a taxi rather than take the train from Kent?
No Kent station connects directly to any airport — every rail route runs into a London terminus first and back out again, meaning one to three changes. From West Kent a solo traveller may still find rail cheaper. From Mid and East Kent, and for any group or family with luggage, a single door-to-terminal vehicle is faster, simpler and often cheaper per head.
